Biography & Metadata
Hailing originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Ben Jewell quickly became a recognizable name in the gulf coast region of the United States as frontman for the Metalcore band Ventruss. As frontman of Ventruss, Ben spent over a decade shaping the band’s sound across three releases—Come Alive (2014), Ventruss (2019), and The Serpent (2022)—and performing alongside All That Remains, HELLYEAH, Starset, and others. Ventruss played Welcome to Rockville in 2021 before disbanding in 2025. That same year, he relocated to Kansas City, Missouri, continuing to write music and extend his catalog. He’s appeared on tracks with Butcher Babies, XSkull8, Midst of War, Red Carpet Grave, and Baton Rouge rapper ChaYsuh, and has most recently dropped his first solo release titled Let Me See , featuring Jahred Gomes from @(Hed) P.E. And Shawn Saizan, also formerly of Ventruss. He has also performed on stage with Sevendust, 12 Stones, Taproot, and blues legend Kenny Neal. From 2018–2021, he also played bass for Bayou Bullets alongside American Idol finalist Jovin Webb, contributing to their album New Lie (2020). Though no longer a full-time member, he returned to the rebranded Black Smokes for select high-profile dates as Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in 2024 and New York City in 2025. With a new project in the works, Ben plans to extend his reach and challenge his previous successes.
