Biography & Metadata

Roasted Ducks Project begins with a real person: songwriter Emil Kraus. In 1985, while living in Santa Barbara, Emil wrote a collection of songs he never had the opportunity to record. They remained silent for four decades—until 2026, when he returned to them with Gratex International and gave the unfinished dream a new life. Emil’s lyrics, melodies and memories remain the foundation of the project. Contemporary production and AI-assisted tools give them their present musical and visual form. Across three albums—After the Long Night, Journey of a Dreamer and Beyond the Dream—the project has grown from dark alternative noir into a broader world of future blues, art rock and cinematic storytelling. The songs move through heartbreak, ghosts and reckoning, but also love, memory, searching and the fragile line between dreams and reality. The visual world has developed alongside the music. The official video for “I Don’t Love You,” created by Daniel Vaško and the Gratex Media Team, received the Narration and Storytelling award at the 2026 AI International Film and Music Video Festivals in Hollywood. The next chapter, West of the Dream, takes the project into a retro-futurist sci-fi western trilogy: three singles, one story. At its center remains one songwriter—and the songs that waited forty years to be heard.
