Biography & Metadata

London-based creative collective Bakko Sound fuses music production, live musicianship, DJ culture, and visual art. Shaped by Afro-diasporic and contemporary UK culture, they blend Amapiano, Dancehall, Rap, Drill, Grime, R&B & Electronic into a shared musical language. The collective takes its name from the Japanese word bakko, a term associated with acting freely or without restraint. That idea became fitting for a group whose approach is based around creative freedom and resisting fixed boundaries between sounds. Each member had already developed their own career before coming together, giving Bakko Sound a combination of studio experience, musicianship, DJ culture, and visual direction within a single collective. Formed by producer/multi-instrumentalist ENZ Made This (Kojey Radical, LD, Fizzler, Taze, Keisha White, Snoop, Sydny August), award-winning producer Dwayne Patrick (Wretch 32, Ghetts, Monica, Davido, Tems), DJ/producer Intalekt (Lex Amor, Kojey Radical, Lucy Rose, Marie Dahlstrom) & art director BYJC (Krept & Konan, Scorcher). With its combination of producers, musicians, a DJ, and an art director, Bakko Sound continues to develop as both a musical collective and a broader creative platform, building a body of original productions and remixes while working with artists across different scenes and cultures. At the centre of the project remains the idea contained in its name: Bakko — the freedom to move without being confined to one direction.
