First adopting the alias in 2012, Tom’s time so far as Werkha has seen him craft a singular sonic portfolio; exploring a vast array of live instrumentation, band arrangement, electronic production, DJ and remix work. Werkha’s productions demonstrate an infectious energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm. His playful synth-bassline driven broken-soulful-funk sounds take in the shapes & colours of many genres, squeezing them through signature approach to writing and production.   After his first Cube & Puzzle EP on Cool Kid Music, Werkha signed to iconic Brighton-based label Tru Thoughts where he released a host of records including his debut album. Having honed in on his craft through his own releases as well as production and writing duties for other artists, his latest EP - The Rigour (now available on First Word Records) - offers a solid musical direction for the coming years. More exciting sounds are brewing from the young mancunian as he steadily becomes a trusted part of the musical playground of the North West.
