Matthew Hara

Matthew’s music reflects a deep dedication to raising consciousness through prayer, presence, and sound. Raised between small mountain towns and coastline of Northern California, his early life was marked by lifelong depression and severe substance abuse, until a profoundly transformative experience with meditation at 20 years old redirected the course of his life. In 2001, he discovered Mantra Yoga, which became the foundation of his musical expression and a daily source of healing, devotion, and inner transformation. His first trip to India at 23 deeply impacted him, and for the following 17 years he returned annually to live with and serve alongside monks, yogis, and spiritual teachers. For many years, Matthew’s music remained a private expression of devotion, shared only in intimate circles, until the encouragement of close friends gradually drew him into offering it publicly. What began organically has since reached listeners around the world, becoming a source of daily inspiration and heartfelt connection for many. Rooted in prayer and diverse in genre, his music blends mantra, intention, and poetic insight to create spaces of sacredness, revelation, and communion with the Universal. His debut album, Regeneration, produced by renowned artist Shimshai, is set for release later in 2026.
