Biography & Metadata

Debuting as a solo artist in 2008 with the EP "I Don't Feel Like I'm Actually Wasting My Time" (produced by Grammis nominee Johan Eckeborn - Jonathan Johansson, Mares, Linnea Henriksson) , Swedish Erik Runeson has gained a reputation as a powerful live performer with a voice and songwriting that moves your soul.
2014 he made the career wise slightly odd choice of moving from Sweden's 4th largest city, Uppsala, to a 1500 people strong small village called Dala-Järna, mostly known for cross-country skiing and hard bread. But that's when the music career started taking off. After building a studio in an old house owned by his parents, he started producing and writing for other artists and bands alongside his own projects. This soon became his primary work, and 2020 he was nominated for "Producer of the year" at the Dalecarlia Music Awards. But the time right before that was even more eventful.
In december 2019, there was a tribute concert for fellow countryman Avicii, who tragically passed away the year before. The concert broke the attendance record for Sweden's largest venue Friend's Arena, and was live streamed by millions all over the world. Erik was picked as one of the three band vocalists, backing up superstars like Aloe Blacc, Dan Tyminski, Rita Ora, Vargas & Lagola, Zak Abel, and more.
During the rehearsal weeks for this huge event, he also managed to record a single featuring the legendary Björn Skifs ("Hooked on a Feeling"), the song "Slow Train Coming".
