South Auckland trio STNDRD have carved out a unique place in Aotearoa music, blending R&B, hip hop, reggae and island influences into a sound that is unmistakably their own. Proudly Samoan and deeply connected to their Ōtara roots, the group have built a loyal following through music grounded in identity and connection. Made up of brothers Johnathan and Paul Aoina, alongside lifelong friend Teeroy Leo, STNDRD's story began long before their first release. STNDRD officially launched in 2019 and quickly captured attention when a remix of their second release, My Uso, went viral across streaming and social media platforms. The track amassed millions of streams and views, earned platinum accreditation, and became a much-loved anthem that resonated across communities. Their debut EP KEEP IT STNDRD arrived in 2020, followed by their debut studio album Jukebox in 2022. The album featured the standout title track with Pacific Music Award winner Sam V and helped cement the trio's reputation as one of the country's most exciting Pacific acts. To date, STNDRD have released more than 30 songs, collectively amassing over 30 million streams and views across digital platforms. Eight of their singles have also charted on the Official Aotearoa Music Charts. Their live performances have taken them across Aotearoa and Australia, including appearances at Promiseland on the Gold Coast, One Love NZ and Summer Frequencies, as well as sharing stages with Fiji, J Boog, Maoli and Kolohe Kai.
