PUSHBACK

House music, the old way. PUSHBACK are a quartet based in Nashville, TN, whose music brings jazz improvisation into the world of electronic dance music. Combining saxophone, trumpet, keyboards, synth, bass and drums, they explore jazz fusion, house, jungle, drum and bass, and trap jazz through live performance. All their recordings are live performances with no pre-recorded elements built in. Live music in its truest sense. Their visual identity is equally distinctive as all four members perform in balaclavas. This has helped the group to grow an engaged audience on TikTok and YouTube where they post content from their regular intimate performances in Nashville. The band chose their name, PUSHBACK, as an ode to the beloved world of aviation, as all four members are full-time touring musicians that often find themselves at the airport for hours on end. The beauty of flight and public transportation are also paid homage to in the titles of all of the group’s songs: ‘V1 / Rotate’, ‘Triple Seven’, and ‘Redeye’.
