Armando Lopez

Armando Lopez is a Miami-born drummer whose playing reflects a deep love for rhythm and collaboration, shaped by years of exploring a wide range of musical styles. While he keeps a grounded approach to his work, his energy behind the drums brings a sense of movement and connection to every performance, always focused on serving the music first. As a touring musician, Armando has shared the stage with artists such as Alfredo Rodríguez, Cory Wong, Elena Rose, Electric Kif, and many others, contributing his distinctive voice to performances that span many genres. In the studio, he has recorded for artists such as Cory Wong, Electric Kif, NuDeco Ensemble and Anemoia, in addition to developing his own music, including his debut solo album Sisu, scheduled for release on October 2, 2026. He also serves as one of the directors of Miamibloco, an 80-member samba percussion community in Miami. The group brings together people of different backgrounds to explore traditional Brazilian rhythms while incorporating a variety of other musical influences, with an emphasis on community and shared learning. Armando’s approach to drumming is centered on versatility and listening, shaped by experiences across many musical settings. He continues to grow as a musician through collaboration, curiosity, and a commitment to the craft.
