Edgar Mondragón

Edgar Mondragón is a musician and producer who, for over a decade, has explored and expanded the boundaries of experimental music. In addition to being a key figure in Mexico’s ambient scene, his musical curiosity has led him to work across diverse areas such as minimalism, deconstructed club, avant-garde, abstract house, and drone—the latter being the most recent phase of his creative development. This natural evolution reflects not only the current sociopolitical landscape, but also a deep search for the primal essence of sound. His work merges two fundamental concepts: emotional depth and introspection, expressing both the emotional charge of his music and the personal, reflective dimension of his daily narrative. As part of these new explorations, Edgar has also developed a specific direction for his live performances—one that centers on the immersive power of drone, offering a unique sonic experience that can only be fully appreciated on stage. His career includes tours across Mexico, the United States, Canada, Colombia, Japan and Spain, with notable appearances at high-profile festivals such as MUTEK, NRMAL, SXSW, Hipnosis, and Pitchfork Music Festival, as well as a special collaboration with the iconic brand Adidas.
