Biography & Metadata
Taking the Sheffield music scene by storm, funk rock duo The Bad Actors make a name for themselves as “the men in orange”. Formed in summer '23, the riff-heavy duo were quick to develop a signature look and sound even catching the ear of Huey Morgan of Fun Lovin’ Criminals, leading to support slots on his May '25 tour. Huey himself calling them, "a great new band". Initial observations will see them compared with Hendrix or Red Hot Chili Peppers. But, in their own words, “We take a lot from Living Colour, The Police and Sly and The Family Stone.” Scissor-kicks and stage tricks are the MO of “kinetic” frontman Khalil (K). His voltaic stage presence helped win slots at this year's Boomtown Festival, and at Tramlines and YNot festival in 2025. Whilst Jay’s laid-back drumming, matching his own personality in feel but not in introversion, forms the springboard for Khalil’s antics. This high-energy dynamic duo play with an ease and synchronisation that can only be attributed to a life-long friendship. Making waves on social media, The Bad Actors’ strategy is a recipe for virality with hundreds of thousands of viewers following their journey each month. The two became friends at school when K told Jay he needed a drummer. Jay obliged, learned drums and joined the band. In this new project, old friends take their idiosyncratic ironic view of the world and spin a funky yarn. The Bad Actors are here to paint the town orange and won't stop until they do.
