Anton Commissaris

Anton Commissaris is a composer, pianist, singer, and songwriter based in the San Francisco Bay Area. After a career in Silicon Valley tech, he’s pursuing his lifelong passion for writing and performing music. Anton writes across jazz, soul, R&B, Brazilian, and Afro-Cuban music, with an affinity for the melodic sophistication and storytelling of the Great American Songbook. His songwriting draws inspiration from Cole Porter, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Chucho Valdes, and Stevie Wonder, with the melodic influence of Lennon and McCartney stretching back to his earliest years as a musician. As a singer, Anton is drawn to artists who put emotional expression at the center of a song such as Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, and Paul McCartney. At the heart of Anton’s music is storytelling. His songs explore love, longing, resilience, self-discovery, and the search for meaning, using images from everyday life and the natural world. Whether writing a jazz swing, soul ballad, bossa nova, or bolero, melody and lyric remain at the center. Since releasing his debut EP On a Bright Note in 2021, Anton has released nine EPs and more than 45 original songs. His latest single, Find Me a Girl, is a playful, upbeat jazz swing about searching for that special someone—and finally finding her. Rooted in the classic American Songbook tradition, it brings together romance, humor, and swing in a contemporary original.
