Biography & Metadata
ABBOTT is an award-winning pianist and composer. With his music he explores the boundaries of classic and electronic music and designs melancholic yet dramatic listening experiences. In 2020 his first album Somnia was released, containing twelve instrumental cinematic tracks, in the same year he got to work on with renowned Zoe Wees, arranging a ‘cinematic’ version of her hit Control - String Version His next single Home (2021), was in collaboration with the Deutsche Grammophon as part of the 'Projekt 12’. ABBOTT than released the EP Unfold (XXIM:EXPO #2) under Sony's new sub-label 'XXIM Records'. Later that year he was commissioned to work on a Christmas piece for the Deutsche Grammophon. He reworked the score of the Dutch Christmas Carol ‘Nu Zijt Wellekome which was one of his favorite Christmas songs growing up in the Netherlands. In 2022 he reworked the song Done (ABBOTT Rework) by his friend and colleague Luna Morgenstern - in the same year he also collaborated with Edda Hayes arranging the string orchestra for her song Disappear. In 2023 he released his latest EP Elv, which is an old-north-German term for ‘Elbe’ or ‘river’. The album was recorded on a ship lying in the Elbe together with the Canea Quartett.
