Derrick L Wyatt

Derrick L. Wyatt is an indie music producer and songwriter that brings an abstract approach to creating and producing music that enhances vibes, makes you want to groove and provides personal audio clips to life memories and experiences. His unique hybrid of neo-soul, smooth jazz, r&b, hip hop, and spoken word creates a distinct sound that can instantly set a mood, be conscious and thought-provoking while making you want to dance. Born in Chicago, IL, and raised between Chicago, Detroit, and Pine Bluff, AR, Derrick absorbed the distinct musical characteristics of these cities to develop his unique sound. His love for music was cultivated while growing up in a family where music was as essential as food, and musical instruments and equipment were easily accessible for experimentation. His father, a professional musician, his mother, and his immediate family as passionate music connoisseurs were instrumental in introducing him to a wide variety of musical styles and influences. Derrick just released his first album titled "The Abstract Stream Vol 1". The album combines multiple genres of music with collaborations from talented hip-hop artists and poets to deliver a sound that has a multi-generational appeal. He is currently working on his second project called "The Abstract Stream Vol 2" and is remixing a collection of singles he calls "The Abstract B-Sides."
