Biography & Metadata

Ramon Tapia was born and raised in Holland, with a Dutch mother and Chilean father – his upbringing had an eclectic mix of cultures which in turn developed and influenced his decision to become a musician. In 2023 Ramon entered into the Raw Techno techno Top 10 charts with a bang, like his collaboration with Gaston Zani ‘Friction’ on Planet Rhtyhm and ‘Circular’ on Christian Smith’s Tronic Music in 2024 . Working in his teen years in Antwerp’s famous record store ‘USA import’ he sculpted a broad taste in music and his production skills along the way gradually learning how to produce tracks solo, with a solid foundation in pounding techno and hardcore scene. He found his resurgence in the 00’s, forging a new school techno sound with his release ‘Land Of Drum’ on Pocket the sublabel of Music Man, a release on Gayle San’s label Equator and more house styled tracks on New York’s legendary Strictly Rhythm label. That's where his name catapulted into the limelight, becoming the biggest turning point for his career, resulting in a residency at Sankey’s Ibiza for three years, multiple bookings around the globe, rapidly growing loyal fan base and global recognition. With an impressive collection of releases on some of the biggest labels, Ramon started his very own imprint - Say What? Records in 2012. The label delivers a proper dancefloor-ready Techno from respected names and new kids pulling the wagon for the new generation under Ramon’s supervision.
