Jay Coop

Jay Coop is a Connecticut hip-hop artist raised between CT and Harlem, New York, whose music reflects perseverance, ambition and real-life experience. Writing music since the age of 8, Coop began seriously pursuing his craft in 2012, releasing early projects including Moving Target, YNDI and Bro City. After a four-year incarceration interrupted his momentum, he returned to music with a renewed focus and a bigger vision. In 2026, Jay Coop entered a new chapter with releases including “In The Making” featuring Diany Dior, “Walk,” “What We Doing” featuring Jim Jones & JR Writer, and “Different Route.” His growing catalog and résumé also include collaborations with Dave East, Billy B, Dyce pasyo and others. Originally from Waterbury, Connecticut, with formative years spent in Harlem, Jay Coop brings both worlds into his music while continuing to build beyond the boundaries of his hometown. With new music and visuals on the way, Jay Coop is focused on turning years of experience, setbacks and persistence into his strongest run yet.
