Tarantola

Tarantola is a London-based band/collective rooted in Salento, Puglia(South Italy). Led by the singer, songwriter and producer Mauro Lacandia, including musicians from different countries and cultures. Their music combines modern reggae beats with soulful and catchy melodies mixed with bouncy rhythms, slang and sounds reminiscent of South Italy and Mediterranean. Mauro Lacandia, (singer, songwriter and producer) straight from Salento, (The Jamaica of Italy) seeks to recreate the legend of “Taranta” (the traditional music from the boot of Italy): the spider that bites people and brings them to a state of trance that can only be cured with music, dance and love! Tarantola just released: “One Blood”. A new album exploring different sounds and forms of Reggae Music. A collection of songs celebrating cultural diversity, unity and human connection featuring international artists such as Daddy Freddy, Papa Leu, Sabaman, Awe Fall and Manlio Calafrocampano. “One blood” is an invitation to recognise our similarities, like the colour of our blood, and the desire to fight would be less. Through the fusion of different styles and cultures, the album will bring you on a musical journey that promotes cultural identity, resilience, and showcases the beauty of cultural exchange.
