The Ediacaran

The Ediacaran defines itself as an open project for musical collaborations. Based on the long-standing collaboration between Bastido and Mr.Mahous, an open space for creative exchange with other artists and musicians has grown over time as their musical and stylistic range has expanded. The project name refers to the prehistoric geological era of the same name, which was characterized by an early form of coexisting biodiversity, and reflects this musical variety. Following a project-launching EP released last year, the debut album A Summer On The Brink (release date: June 19, 2026) captures the mood of a present increasingly shaped by escalating global crises. Inspired by the image of a gathering storm on a hot summer day, it is, despite its thoughtful themes, a largely positive and light album that blends indie-folk, alt-pop, alternative R&B, and reggae influences. With guest contributions by artists from Spain/Catalonia, Argentina, Italy, Jamaica, the UK and Hungary, the focus is on cross-genre and cross-border collaboration.
