Biography & Metadata
Award-winning composer Tom Howe has scored over 100 films and television series. From sweeping orchestral scores and imaginative sonic landscapes to iconic main title themes and hit songs, his versatility as a multi-instrumentalist—combined with his expertise in pop, rock, and electronic sound design—has made him one of today’s most in-demand composers. A two-time Emmy nominee, Howe has received seven Hollywood Music in Media Award nominations, winning two. His work has also earned him nominations for the World Soundtrack Awards, Music + Sound Awards, Annie Awards, and the Jerry Goldsmith Award. As the composer of Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso and Shrinking, Howe’s main title themes have become cultural touchstones, and his scores and songs have garnered industry acclaim. For Ted Lasso, he received an Emmy nomination for the theme (co-written with Marcus Mumford), as well as an Emmy nomination and a Hollywood Music in Media Award for Sam Ryder’s song “Fought & Lost” (co-written with Jamie Hartman and Ryder). For Shrinking, Howe won a Hollywood Music in Media Award (with Benjamin Gibbard) for the theme. Recent projects include Shrinking (Season 3), DreamWorks Animation’s Dog Man, Disney+’s Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires, and Focus Features’ Polite Society. Upcoming projects include Ted Lasso (Season 4), the MGM+ series American Classic, Universal Pictures’ Reminders of Him, and Amazon Prime’s Legally Blonde prequel series, Elle.
