Vakia Stavrou

Vakia was born in Cyprus and grow up while listening to great greek and international voices as her father was a huge music lover. Started with classical guitar lessons, she followed then advanced music studies, concentrating on the Voice: her real passion. Soon after, she received lots of interest and invitations to perform in many cities and festivals like Mostra Viva Del Mediterrani Festival(Valencia), Au Fil des Voix Festival(Paris), Gasteig(Munich) and many more, and at the same time she established her discography: her first own composition "Sozinha" became a major hit on radios all over Europe, followed by 3 albums: "Portrait"(2010), "Anemoessa"(2013) and "Alasia"(2016). In the meantime Vakia was invited to represent her country at the very prestigious Mediterranean Concert that took place at the Room of Human Rights and Alliance of Civilizations at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. A true citizen of the world, multilingual and open to all challenges that come to her path in music, she was described by German Press as "A voice without boarders" ( Die Welt). Her new album, "Vakia" (Feb. 2024) consists exactly of what Vakia represents during her live performances: Passion, Simplicity, Strength & Fragility at the same time, Light and Beauty within every note she sings : creating stories & images, provoking emotions... Her concerts are considered as life experiances, journeys of the mind and heart, capable of making new and unforgettable souvenirs!
