JR Writer

JR Writer is a Harlem-born rapper and core member of the legendary Diplomats (Dipset). Discovered through the New York battle circuit, he made his debut on Juelz Santana's From Me To U before signing to Diplomat Records, where his debut album History in the Making hit the Top 25 of the Billboard 200 and #2 on both Billboard's Top Rap and R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. His Writer's Block mixtape series remains one of the most respected runs in mixtape history, and his work on Cam'ron's albums earned him a Gold plaque. Two decades in, the pen hasn't dulled — it's sharpened. Now recording independently through his own label Thunda and reclaiming ownership of his catalog, JR Writer is in the middle of his most prolific chapter: the I Really Rap series, and Double Trouble — a full collaborative album with fellow Dipset general Hell Rell under The Movement — arriving August 19, 2026.
