Writing and releasing music is just one facet of Rykka's artistry. Through music, art, film, dance, and storytelling, Rykka pushes boundaries to create a world that is weirder, softer, and more creative. Rykka first caught public attention with the debut album “Kodiak” in 2015, earning multiple radio awards and nominations, including the prestigious Peak Performance Top Prize. Following this success, Rykka dazzled audiences on stage at Eurovision 2016, the Montreux Jazz Festival, and over 2,000 other performances. August 2024 marks the beginning of a new artistic chapter as Rykka returns to Earth after an extended period of space travel. In Rykka's bold new single, “High Trust High Stakes,” the journey moves from floating in outer space to landing on Earth’s rocky shores. Welling synths, a creeping bassline, and vibey vocals make the payoff all the more satisfying. “Initially, I wrote the song about trusting someone—navigating the ebb and flow of a relationship,” Rykka shares. “But in the end, that person is no longer in my life, and I realized that shifting the song’s perspective to speak to myself really resonated. Trusting myself is interesting because it allows a certain kind of freedom. If I know I can trust myself to set boundaries or not be too hard on myself, it opens me up to try new things. I’m not an expert, but I’m working on it.” "High Trust High Stakes" was written by Rykka and producer Benji and recorded in Winterthur, Switzerland.
