Troy Venus, also known as TOKONIZI, is an artist, producer, and lawyer from Bayelsa State, Nigeria. His journey into music wasn’t planned. After relocating to Lagos for Nigerian Law School—a process that almost didn’t come together—he found himself navigating a new city with little intention of pursuing music seriously. That changed when he crossed paths with Grammy-nominated producer Andre Vibez, whose encouragement pushed him to view his talent differently. Taking the advice to heart, TOKONIZI began balancing law and music, laying the foundation for what would become his true calling. Upon completing his studies, he made the decision to remain in Lagos and fully explore his artistic potential. In a remarkably short time, he has evolved into a versatile and distinctive voice, positioning himself as one of the most exciting emerging talents to watch. TOKONIZI’s sound is built on a calm, effortless delivery fused with psychedelic textures that create an almost trance-like listening experience.
