RJ Mendoza

RJ Mendoza is an independent songwriter and recording artist based in Austin, Texas. His music lives somewhere between acoustic rock, singer-songwriter storytelling, and reflective folk, drawing inspiration from artists who aren't afraid to ask difficult questions about love, faith, identity, loss, and what it means to be human. Rather than chasing trends, RJ focuses on building a body of work that feels honest and timeless. His songs often begin with a simple melody. Recent projects have explored themes ranging from relationships and personal struggles to stories inspired by the Bible, approached through a deeply human lens. Whether performing at local open mics, recording at home, or revisiting songs from earlier chapters of his life, RJ views songwriting as both a craft and a lifelong process of discovery. Every release is another step in that process.
