Biography & Metadata
Formed in 1987, the Asa de Águia band from Bahia devoted to axé music has recorded 13 albums and sold 3,000,000 copies. Performing 12 shows each month throughout Brazil, the group had the hits "Bota Pra Ferver," "Take It Easy," "Qual É," "A Gente Pede Festa," "Com Amor," "Não Tem Lua," "Oba Vou Passear," "Cocobambu," "Dia Dos Namorados," "Eu Quero Mais," "Baila Que Eu Vou," "Pra Lá De Bragadá," "Xô Satanás," "Dança Da Tartaruga," "Dança Da Manivela," and "Dança Do Vampiro." Beginning as Banda Pinel, doing shows in Salvador, especially during Carnival, the group always performed in a formula that blends energetic music (influenced by rock, funk, pop, and reggae) with choreography, involving thousands of people in the audience in the dancing. ~ Alvaro Neder, Rovi
