Ebiet G. Ade

Ebiet G. Ade is a musician and singer songwriter who famous for his songs that touch on nature, social-political issues, and the struggles of marginalized groups. His music, which blends folk pop, country, and soft rock, has been a staple of Indonesian culture, capturing the essence of Indonesian life from the late 1970s to the present. Ebiet G. Ade's songs often focus on disasters. He wrote "Berita kepada Kawan" after the Dieng Plateau gas disaster, "Sebuah Tragedi 1981" about the sinking of KMP Tampomas II, and "Untuk Kita Renungkan" after the Mount Galunggung eruption. Another song, "Masih Ada Waktu", is also inspired by a real event. Ebiet G. Ade has just released a new arrangement of his classic single "Elegi Esok Pagi" in 2025, featuring special arrangements by David and Lukman Noah.
