Tells

A raw authentic storyteller with an empowering singing and rapping ability, Tells is an artist who bends genres to her will rather than allowing herself to be confined by their boundaries; her work swings back and forth between Jazz, RnB and Hip-Hop with the multicultural influences of London. The key to Tells’ appeal lay in her subtle interweaving of old-fashioned soul, confessional songwriting and rap - tied together by her vocals and presence. Tells has gained the nickname 'the Performer' because she truly comes alive in front of an audience. As a singer/rapper, songwriter and actress, every performance of hers straps you into an emotional rollercoaster, and permits her audience to get lost as they fall into the depths of her soulful story telling. Her sound evokes the essence of her idols such as Tracy Chapman, Nina Simone and Lauryn Hill, yet lined with authenticity and honest lyrics.
