Negru Profund

Negru Profund — "deep black" — is a faceless rapcore project working in Romanian and English. The sound is aggressive rap and screamed sections over dark industrial production, cut with Romanian folk instruments — vioară, cimpoi, țambal, nai, fluier — used as menace rather than decoration. The village and the apartment block in the same room. The subject matter is what people inherit rather than choose: the post-communist hangover, emigration, corruption, waiting rooms that outlive the men who built them, the neighbour nobody looks at twice. Some of it is street. Some of it is psychological horror. Usually both. The catalogue moves between three modes — Romanian rapcore built on folk instrumentation, sparse English trap metal, and nu-metal with rap verses and rock-locked hooks. There is no face and no name. The figure in the dark is deliberately anyone.
