Yarkin Duo

“Where piano meets kemençe, and tradition meets the unknown.” Yarkın Duo is a sibling project from Istanbul, blending the expressive sounds of piano and classical Istanbul kemençe. Formed by internationally acclaimed pianist Baturay Yarkin and kemençe virtuoso Nağme Yarkın, the duo brings together Turkish musical traditions with jazz, improvisation, and Western classical elements. Their debut album One introduced a unique sound shaped by their shared roots and distinct artistic voices — weaving spontaneity and structure into music that feels both personal and universal. They performed and led workshops in 14 countries, from the U.S. and U.K. to France, Italy, the Netherlands, and the Balkans — sharing their cross-cultural language of sound with audiences around the world. With their latest release Diyar, Yarkın Duo deepens this journey. Each piece reflects a conversation — not just between two instruments, but between memory, culture, and emotion. Their music invites listeners into an intimate space where East meets West, and where tradition becomes a living, breathing form of storytelling.
