Biography & Metadata
Drew Anderson is an AI music artist and an ongoing exploration of anthropomorphism: what happens when a synthetic voice is given a name, a face, a story, and a heart, and why we are so ready to feel something in return. Drew isn't a real person. Behind the voice are real people writing songs, shaping prompts, directing production, and using AI tools to bring a fictional artist to life. Storytelling videos extend the music beyond the tracks, exploring the ideas behind each song and revealing how the character is constructed. Musically, the project moves between cinematic ballads, soft-synth pop, and unexpected genre shifts. The lyrics explore the complications of ordinary life: misunderstandings, distance, belonging, and the tension between English roots and everyday life in Italy. It began with Lost Umbrellas and What You Left in Me, followed by the debut album Real Music in Artificial Times, featuring The Light Gets In, World on Fire and Keep Coming Back to You. Two Minds came next, a bilingual record featuring Italiana, Smile and Distanza. Now, "Release Me" and the indie rap track "Shady Lady" open the next chapter: Anthropomorphic, an upcoming album exploring the boundaries between human feeling and artificial identity. The project is also an exercise in conscious creation, using AI deliberately and generating only what is needed in recognition of its environmental cost. Made by people. Sung by no one.
