Biography & Metadata

Tomi Swick understands the unique satisfaction of creating something with one’s own hands, and this philosophy doesn’t only apply to music. Over the last few years, the Canadiana singer-songwriter has been quietly working on a new album as well as enjoying some quality time in Northern Ontario, building a lodge together with his friends. The upcoming lead single, “Love Me Today,” is one of many songs that were written in his cabin in the woods. Those songs are collected in Swick’s fourth full-length album, “Rundown Love,” to be released with Slaight Music. They are love stories gone wrong – love between friends, family and romantic partners, and about the tension in humanity. Self-produced by Swick and recorded at Jukasa Studios and Halo Studios in Ontario, Swick packaged these introspective and hypothetical conversations into 10 folk rock tracks. For over a decade, Swick has played shows and toured with his contemporaries, including the Barenaked Ladies , The Goo Goo Dolls, Blue Rodeo, Feist, Collective Soul, Tom Cochrane, Big Wreck and more. His live show ranges from a rockin’ four-piece band to a full eight-piece ensemble with a brass section. Recognized as Best New Artist of the Year at the 2007 Juno Awards, Tomi Swick has also been longlisted for the 2017 Polaris Prize for his third album, “The Yukon Motel,” received two Canadian Radio Music Awards, a SOCAN A/C Songwriting Award and multiple Hamilton Music Awards.
