Clayrocksu is a Nigerian Alternative rock/ Afro Rock Artiste based in Lagos, Nigeria. Considered the leader of the Afro Rock movement in Nigeria. Her single AMIN won the best rock category 2022, in the biggest awrd show in africa, AFRIMA awards. Her debut single “Ogadisinma” was nominated at the prestigious Nigeria Music Video Awards (NMVA) in the best alternative category. The following year, “Dancing in the sun” featuring Nigerian rap sensation, Vector Tha Viper won the Top Naija Music Awards (TNMA) for the Best Record of the Year category. Clay was crowned “Rock Goddess” of the year at the Audio Inferno’s African Rock Music Awards. Her song “The One” featuring MAVIN’s Johnny Drille was nominated for Beatz Award, under the category “Best Afro Rock”. Among other achievements, Clay is acknowledged to be the first to make a post hardcore in Nigeria, a song which featured 1last Autograph. She has worked with international acts such as Kenyan’s foremost Rock band ‘Parking Lot’s Grass’, American Rapper JIT in rock/rap collaborations. With Clay’s unique vocals and electrifying live performances alongside her rock band, ‘The Misfits’, she has created a niche in the Nigerian Afro Pop dominated music industry. Clay has amongst several shows, played at the Rocktoberfest , the Ake Festival , AFFRIF ,Felabration amongst others. She has consistently bagged international interviews and features with the New York Times, Rolling stone, Reuters, Daily Nation Kenya, amongst others.
