Kyle Preston writes compositional ambient music for modern solitude, offering quiet classical meditations for where you are right now. He also writes organic, nature-based melodic ambient as Harbor Rift, cinematic orchestral music as Rubric, and darkly elegant ambient as The Soft Empire. Based in Seattle and with a background in astronomy & astrophysics, his modern classical work is deeply grounded in scientific realism and a reverence for the natural world. His sonic blend of science and art can be heard in a growing list of short and feature-length films, apps, and video games — including the Apple iPad Award Winner and TIME Magazine game of the year Prune (Original Game Soundtrack) as well as the Apple Design Award finalist Hindsight.
