Jakob Takos and the Connection

Jakob Takos & The Connection is a South Florida indie folk rock band with a little bit of bop, blending groove driven rhythms and strong musicianship into an eclectic sound they call Sunshine Soul. Their sound pulls from classic influences like The Beatles, Tom Petty, and Johnny Cash, while also drawing inspiration from modern acts such as Pinegrove, Houndmouth, The Big Push, Red Clay Strays, Alabama Shakes, The Black Keys, and artists like Tyler Childers, John Mayer, and Tom Misch. May 6th, the band released their latest album, Sweet Brews & Heavy Grooves, continuing to evolve their sound through strong musicianship, storytelling, groove, and live energy. The core four includes Marco Olortegui, Royal Hayes, and Ricky Bolufe. Their live shows are always something fun and centered around musicianship, improvisation, along with creating an atmosphere where anyone can be part of the experience. Whether it’s friends sitting in, local musicians hopping on stage, or spontaneous moments throughout the set, it’s all about connection and sharing music together.
