Chequerboard

A Japanese garden is a fitting metaphor for the music of Chequerboard. This music is raked, and tended to, with such focus and care that each sound rises and falls in its own being without ever losing purpose or beauty. -Avant Port Music Chequerboard is the music of Dublin guitarist and composer John Lambert. Built around acoustic guitar, with strings, electronics and other instrumentation, the music occupies a space somewhere between post-rock, ambient and contemporary instrumental. Since beginning in the early 2000s, Chequerboard has released four albums, most recently Souvenir. The music has gradually found its way to listeners around the world, with more than 30 million streams on spotify to date. New music is on the way.
