Coast Contra, Los Angeles based Hip-Hop group, has been making waves since February 2022 following the release of their viral freestyle “Never.” The group includes Ras Austin, a stylistic MC with tons of charisma and innovative flows, Taj Austin, a thought-provoking lyricist with an affinity for wordplay, Rioloz, Colombian-born artist bridging the Latin & Black cultures with a distinguishable voice, poetic translations, and unorthodox flows, and Philadelphia’s very own Eric Jamal, whose storytelling abilities captivate his viewers’ ears with endless entendres & energetic performance. Off the back of the success of “Never,” the group featured on their first tour as an opener for Cordae, followed by a performance at Dave Chappelle’s Netflix Is A Joke Hollywood Bowl special and an appearance on Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon. Coast Contra released their debut studio album “Apt 505” in March 2022 and headlined their own “Apt 505 Tour” in September 2022. The group’s rise to notability has served as a breath of fresh air to Hip-Hop fans as their raw talent, lyricism, camaraderie, and infectious personalities leave a lasting impression on their listeners. They embody Hip-Hop’s greatest acts and create a sense of evolved nostalgia; a combination of missing the old and loving the new.
