Biography & Metadata

Colombian singer-songwriter nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2021 for her album “Nanas Consentidoras”. She began her music career at the age of 13 as a member of the traditional Colombian duo Sombra y Luz, winner of the Mono Núñez Music Festival (1994). She has published 7 solo albums: “Bambuco Ácido” (2004), “Colección de mundos” (2008 ), “Belleza Silvestre” (2010), “Tu continente” (2015), “Hasta el Nuevo Sol” (2017), “Nanas Consentidoras” (2020). Victoria Sur just released her seventh album titled “Los Viajes del Corazón” (October 2024). She has collaborated with internationally renowned artists such as Susana Baca on the song “Camino de la patria” (2021), and with Jorge Velosa on “La Mariposa” (2022). Victoria Sur has performed and toured across Latin America, Europe and the USA. Since she began her search for a personal identity in the world of song, Victoria Sur has taken a path through geographical and musical places as diverse as her career, instantly and magically connecting with a voice full of rich qualities, a rarely heard vocal style and a natural skill for creating great songs and singular anthems. This freedom has allowed her to naturally incorporate Latin American folk styles into her music, based on a fresh and new sound full of vitality. In her songs she sings about love, heartbreak, dreams, peace, forgiveness, inclusion, nature and life.
