Mildreda is the dark electro project led by Belgian producer Jan Dewulf — a sonic world where intensity meets introspection, and where darkness is never one-dimensional. Rooted in classic EBM and dark electro yet unafraid to push beyond genre boundaries, Mildreda thrives on contrast. Crushing beats collide with melancholic melodies, icy basslines intertwine with fragile textures, and beneath the surface of controlled aggression lies a deeply human core. What began in the 1990s as a teenage obsession with synthesizers evolved into a long-term artistic journey. After years of exploration beyond the project, Dewulf returned with renewed focus, leading to a new era for Mildreda. Signing to Dependent Records marked a turning point. With I Was Never Really There (2021) and the acclaimed concept album Blue-Devilled (2023), Mildreda established a distinctive sound that balances power, atmosphere and emotional depth. Expanding the expressive range of dark electro without losing its edge, the project continues to reshape expectations of the genre. On stage, Mildreda delivers intense and immersive performances, with Christophe Salvatore joining live on keys.
