Biography & Metadata

Newborn Ghost emerged from the shadows of Philadelphia, founded by BelaFern and Everrett Thompson. Their debut album, To Make a Flower as Sharp as a Knife (2021), delivered a powerful blend of post-punk, darkwave, and industrial sounds — raw, unrelenting, and emotionally charged, with piercing melodies riding over mechanical, driving rhythms. Now based in Barcelona and joined by bassist Fluggel Josh, the band continues to push their sound into new territory. Their EP DEVASTATION/divinity, released through SAD GIRL RECORDS, captures an evolving mix of haunting atmospheres and pounding beats. Among their notable collaborations, Newborn Ghost previously teamed up with Carmilla Sioux on the EP Lumina Obscura, featuring remixes by Nightcrawler and WLDV, expanding their sound with a more electrified, club-driven edge. Their newest single, Life of the Party, has received strong praise from critics, highlighting the band’s ability to balance dark intensity with raw, unapologetic energy. Most recently, the band joined forces with Nightcrawler on Incubator, released via From Hell to Disco — a relentless, industrial-leaning track that pushes their apocalyptic sound firmly onto the dancefloor.
