Biography & Metadata
BC Hedges grew up in a home filled with music. His father sang in a college glee club and barbershop quartet, while his mother loved Neil Diamond music and took BC to musicals, opera, and years of piano and trumpet lessons. His siblings added to the mix — 70s sing-alongs, rock posters on the wall, and “Smoke on the Water” on repeat. Rocky movies, workout music, and live concerts became formative experiences, including Huey Lewis and the News, The Steve Miller Band, REO Speedwagon, Eric Clapton, and seeing The Jacksons at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. Other influential live concerts included Chicago, The Beach Boys, Whitney Houston, Air Supply, Michael W. Smith, Crowder, and many more. Though he sang in high school choir, BC was too shy for solos and still is mostly a “shower and basement singer.” He and a best friend enjoyed sharing music as DJ’s in college. Recurring sinus issues limited his singing voice, but never his love for music. After allergy treatments and dietary changes improved his voice and clarity of thought, and with encouragement from his software engineer children using modern production tools, he finally began to write and create music that brings the melodies in his mind to life. Today, BC Hedges creates music centered on positivity, perseverance, gratitude, love, and faith in God — with the hope of encouraging others. He hopes you enjoy some of these songs by listening to the full song, save some, add to your playlists, and share with others.
