Poolpat

Poolpat is a producer and DJ based in Cork, Ireland, and the founder of Shanakee Records. His music sits where boom-bap meets trip-hop and French electronic — dusty, atmospheric and sample-driven, built on an SP-404 MK2, a Roland Juno and a Telepathic Instruments Orchid. French-born and Cork-based, he writes from both sides of that line: the swing and grit of nineties rap production, the melancholy and space of French electronica. The 2024 album Discipline pulled it into one record, followed by the Get It Out EP. Along the way: #16 on the Hip-Hop/Rap albums chart in Ireland, a spot on Apple Music's Made in Cork, and a live show at Cyprus Avenue. Everything is written, produced and released independently through Shanakee.
