Biography & Metadata

Ezéchiel Pailhès is a French singer, songwriter and composer. Best known as one half of the electronic duo Nôze alongside Nicolas Sfintescu, he has also developed a singular solo career blending chanson, instrumental music and film composition. Trained in classical music, jazz and composition at the conservatories of Beauvais, Aubervilliers and Marseille, he graduated from the National Conservatory of Marseille in 2000. The following year, he co-founded Nôze with Nicolas Sfintescu. Between 2005 and 2015, the duo released five acclaimed albums on Circus Company and Get Physical, becoming a distinctive presence on the European electronic music scene. He launched his solo career with Divine (2013), followed by Tout va bien (2017), featuring the widely aired single “Éternel été.” On Oh! (2020) and Mélopée (2022), he explored a more literary universe inspired by poets including William Shakespeare, Pablo Neruda, Renée Vivien and Marceline Desbordes-Valmore. With Ventas Rumba (2024), recorded in Estonia, he returned to an instrumental format centered on piano and analog synthesizers. His sixth album, SOL, opens a new chapter. Inspired by Brazilian popular music and the spirit of saudade, it revisits classic samba and bossa nova songs from the 1950s to the 1970s through French adaptations. Recorded between Montreuil and Rio de Janeiro, SOL brings French chanson and Brazilian music into dialogue through a contemporary, luminous and deeply personal approach.
