Shy Girls

Shy Girls is the nom de plume of Dan Vidmar, a Portland-based alternative-R&B musician. The native of State College, Pennsylvania headed to the west coast after graduating from Pennsylvania State University and quickly started working on music professionally once he arrived in Portland. He garnered attention in 2013 when he placed "Under Attack" on SoundCloud. Soon, the single gained rave reviews and he released the Timeshare EP by the end of the year. During 2014, he opened for Haim on their American tour, as well as Maxwell. The following year brought the mixtape 4WZ and he spent 2016 working on his full-length debut Salt, which appeared in early 2017. Over the next year, Vidmar focused on singles, releasing "Hallelujah" and "Headfucked" in 2018, followed by "This Is Your World" and "Lay and Be Lonely" in early 2019. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, Rovi
