Malika

Malika is a British multi-platinum singer-songwriter, entrepreneur, music rights holder and one of the pioneering voices of UK Funky. First emerging under the name Meleka, she helped shape the movement with her breakthrough single “Go”, particularly the iconic Crazy Cousinz remix, which became one of the defining records of the genre and experienced a major resurgence in 2026. A champion of independent ownership, Malika has retained ownership of her master recordings throughout her career, including “Go”, which she co-wrote and performed. Having owned the record since its release in 2009, she was uniquely positioned to directly license and benefit from its revival more than 17 years later. Spanning R&B, soul, dance and electronic music, Malika has contributed to records that have amassed more than 300 million streams worldwide. Her catalogue includes the independent projects Songs About C, The 90’s Made Me and Tension, alongside collaborations with Nathan Dawe, Jaykae, Snakehips, SG Lewis and Basement Jaxx. Among her biggest commercial successes are the platinum-certified singles “Flowers” and “Cheatin’”, helping establish her as both a respected songwriter and recording artist.
