fika

Al Wreaves & Sam Hutton (fika) blend all their influences into one irresistible sonic cocktail. It's like soul, pop, and R&B all had a wild party and fika is the lovechild that came out of it. Inspired by John Mayer, Harry Styles, MJ, D'Angelo, James Morrison and Frank Ocean, fika have crafted a unique sound that seamlessly blends elements from different genres. Their sonic tapestry takes listeners on an emotional journey, capturing the essence of love, introspection, and the human experience. Beyond their own musical endeavors, fika have become a driving force in the independent music scene. They founded Bamboo Recordings, one of London's most exciting record labels, providing a platform for emerging talents to showcase their artistry. Ben Jones, Oli Howe, Taloula, Stefan Mahendra, Jackson Mathod, and, of course, fika themselves, all call Bamboo Recordings home, fostering a collaborative community where artists can thrive. 2026 sees the release of fika’s new EP 10%, a collaborative project with Birmingham-based singer Eddy Luna. The first single, Mercy, arriving on 25 March, introduces a fresh chapter for the London duo — blending their signature soul-leaning grooves, jazz-tinged harmony and warm analogue textures with Luna’s rich, expressive vocal. Written and produced between long studio sessions and late-night writing hangs, the EP captures a natural chemistry between the artists and marks fika’s most focused and confident work to date.
