Tanto Metro & Devonte

Dancehall deejay Tanto Metro (Mark Wolfe) and singer Devonte (Wayne Passley) forged a long-term alliance in the late '90s. Before the Kingston, Jamaica natives became a duo, Tanto Metro was already a veteran artist with piles of singles for labels like Shelter Rock and Shocking Vibes, and he had released a solo album, Ratings, in 1995. Devonte likewise had Shocking Vibes, among other labels, as an outlet for singles. Together, the duo scored a major hit in 1997 with "Everyone Falls in Love," which preceded an album of the same title released two years later. The Beat Goes On (2001), Musically Inclined (2006), and Most Wanted (2009) followed as sporadically issued full-lengths, but the duo were consistently active as singles artists through the mid-2010s. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
