The October Effect

Artist Bio: Formed in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset in 2023, The October Effect blend reflective pop, soul and subtle jazz influences with atmospheric, emotionally driven songwriting. The project began with songwriter and guitarist Laurence “Loz” Collins and vocalist Cath Back, whose award-winning musical theatre background brings warmth, depth and character to the songs. Recent single “Friday Is Mine” has gained growing radio and playlist support, including a play on BBC Radio 6 Music by Don Letts, alongside independent radio stations in the UK and internationally. The line-up is completed by bassist and backing vocalist Mike Gutsell, who has been making music with Laurence since their teenage years.
