Taisen

Taisen is a French composer and multi-instrumentalist whose work blurs the lines between classical composition and electronic experimentation. His music is rooted in piano and expands its sound through synthetisers and textures. A soundworld where light and shadow, memory and imagination, silence and resonance coexist. Born in France and based in Toulouse, Taisen’s earliest musical memories are steeped in the sounds of classical music. He began learning piano at the age of five. But it wasn’t until his mid-teens that music became a personal language. At sixteen, tired with formal training and the rigidity of sheet music, he abandoned lessons and began to improvise. This moment marked the beginning of a lifelong devotion to spontaneous composition, one that would expand to include other instruments (guitar, bass, violin) and eventually the electronic palette that now forms a central part of his sound. In 2023, he won the BPM contest in Paris and was invited last year to support Jean-Michel Jarre.
