Leanne Douglas

Leanne Douglas is a piano solo pseudonym of the pianist Richard Laurence. The pieces for this profile are designed to take you on a never ending journey. We start at home and visit many locations and settings on our pathway, often getting more fantastical but with real settings. Each piece uses a deck of playing cards to create a few opening harmonies in different keys. These can lead to some outcomes which feel very natural but also combinations that take time to work with to create something pleasant to work with. I personally have loved writing this way as the combinations take you out of your comfort zone and you have to get creative to find workarounds. I never use AI for any of my music and the artworks are all simple sketches. The footprints take us in different directions as we move along our pathway.
