4LDunk is an artist whose story was shaped by family, sacrifice, the streets, prison, loss, faith, and second chances. Growing up, Duncan watched his mother work three jobs to provide for their family. Her sacrifice gave him a hunger for money at an early age—not just for himself, but to help with bills and spoil his mom whenever he could. While still pursuing his dream of basketball, he was always finding ways to make money, sometimes getting himself into trouble along the way. With his older brother already spending much of his youth in placements and jail, Duncan eventually left basketball behind for the street life. Before finishing high school, he was arrested for multiple home invasions. Refusing to cooperate or give information on anyone, he accepted a plea deal of 5 years in prison with 20 years suspended. While incarcerated, he ended up on the same maximum-security cell block as his older brother, who was serving 5 years on unrelated charges. Behind the walls, Duncan reconnected with his faith in God and changed the way he wanted to live. Now free, 4LDunk is putting that same hunger into music. The loss of his close friend Austin became even more motivation to make something meaningful out of his second chance. He stays connected with his brothers still incarcerated, pushing them to keep doing right and believe in life beyond the walls. For 4LDunk, the past is his story. What he does next is his legacy.
